The rehoming process

Many of the dogs that come into our care have been abandoned, neglected or ill treated and may be nervous or have a feeling of vulnerability. They all need loving, safe homes with a great deal of sensitivity in their care, this is a big step for you to take but can be the most rewarding experience when you see how they respond to you and your family.

If you are interested in re-homing one of our dogs please contact us on barneys.hope@gmail.com or phone +34659274573.

We will send to prospective adopters a form which needs to be completed and returned to us, this can be filled in on line and emailed, scanned or posted to us at Apartado de Correos 54, Pinoso, 03650, Alicante, Spain.

The prospective adopters form sets out the charges for adoption, transport etc.

The next step will be to arrange a meeting between you and your new friend if this is possible and will be followed by a home check. If the prospective adopter is from abroad (Outside Spain) then this meeting may not be possible.

If the dog is being rehomed abroad, we arrange transport with a registered dog transport company and will notify you of the cost and conditions.

In nearly all cases the dogs respond to the new, caring environment and rarely do problems occur, however in the unlikely event of a problem between you and the dog, that cannot be resolved with care and support you must inform us immediately and the dog must come back to Barney’s.
The dog cannot be passed on to a third party, abandoned or euthanized.

We take a great deal of pride in our work and finding the right home for our dogs, we would
welcome any news/updates of how the dog has settled into your family life.
